Wilsonville is a city with a river running through its south end. Most of the town sits north of the Willamette; Charbonneau sits south of it, and the I-5 Boone Bridge is the only fixed crossing between them. Add a freeway down the middle, splitting the north side into east and west, and a Wilsonville address says a lot about how moving day will run.
Butterfield Moving is based in Hillsboro, family-run and licensed for household and office moves within Oregon. Patrick Butterfield, the owner, picks up the phone and tours larger homes in Wilsonville before quoting them, while Aiden, his son, loads and drives with the crew. Wilsonville moves run on the same published hourly card we use across the metro.
Start the call with a street name. In Wilsonville, that one detail places you on a bank of the river and a side of I-5, and Patrick builds the rest of the estimate around it.

What Butterfield Brings to Charbonneau, Villebois and Old Town
Charbonneau Condo Moves
When the building asks for a certificate of insurance, it usually goes out within the hour.
East Side, West Side
Villebois and Old Town, Canyon Creek and Frog Pond West, all priced on one hourly card.
Villebois Townhomes
Tall headboards and bunk beds taken apart upstairs when the stair turn will not let them pass whole.
Frog Pond West Move-Ins
Detached homes at the city's northeast boundary, with a garage to hold boxes while beds and sofas go straight to their rooms.

Three Wilsonville Questions We Ask Before We Quote
Question 1: Which bank of the Willamette are you on?
The Boone Bridge is the only bridge across the Willamette for a 30-mile stretch in the south metro. For a Charbonneau household, most moves north cross on I-5, even to a street two miles away in the same city. We plan those jobs so the truck crosses loaded one time: every room counted on the call, the garage and the patio included, and a truck and crew sized to take the whole house in one trip. A forgotten patio set that needs a second run over the bridge costs you real time.
Question 2: Does a Charbonneau association have a say in your move?
Charbonneau is a private planned community with 1,158 multi-family units alongside 510 houses, and a homeowners association. If you live in one of those condos or townhomes, a few questions to the association come before you pick a date. Are there hours when moves are allowed? Where can a moving truck stand, and for how long? Does the building want a certificate of insurance, or protection in shared hallways? For a gated estate, who opens the gate for the truck? The answers can move your date, change the truck size, or add a helper to shorten a long walk from the curb, so they belong in the plan from the start.
Question 3: Which side of I-5 are both addresses on?
I-5 runs through the middle of Wilsonville, and the city sorts its north-side neighborhoods into west and east. Villebois, Old Town and Morey's Landing sit west of the freeway; Canyon Creek, Wilsonville Meadows and Frog Pond West sit east. A move between two addresses on the north side is short even when it crosses the freeway at Wilsonville Road, which keeps more of the day on furniture than on the road.

What the Bridge and the Master Plans Change
A bridge that carries the freight of the valley
The I-5 Boone Bridge, opened in 1954 and widened to six lanes in 1970, is a known chokepoint heavy with semi-truck traffic. A loaded moving truck shares the span at freeway speed, so a Charbonneau load is tiered and strapped for the highway, even when the new address is a few miles away.
Villebois, in its final phases
Villebois covers roughly 480 acres on the former Dammasch State Hospital grounds, with more than 2,500 homes in apartments, condominiums, townhomes and detached houses, and it is in its final phases of construction. Where building work is still underway near your street, tell us, and we will ask where the truck can stand without blocking the contractors.
Frog Pond, the next chapter
The city adopted a master plan for Frog Pond East and South in December 2022, for about 1,650 homes east of Stafford Road, with construction expected to begin in late 2027 or early 2028. The plan requires a share of middle housing, such as townhouses or duplexes, and some homes that are accessible without stairs. If you are buying into one of those phases later, call us once you have a closing date.
Old Town and the ferry road
Alphonso Boone and his son Jesse started Boone's Ferry across the Willamette in 1847. Old Town, the oldest neighborhood, lies south of Wilsonville Road along Boones Ferry Road, near Boones Ferry Park. Homes there come from a range of decades, so the walk-through notes door widths and stair turns at each one instead of assuming.
Getting people there on moving day
The truck carries furniture, so plan how the household gets between addresses. SMART, the city's own bus system, runs fare-free routes within Wilsonville, and TriMet's WES commuter rail ends at Wilsonville Station. Those can help when the family car is packed to the roof.

How a Butterfield Wilsonville Move Runs
A phone call that starts with both addresses
Patrick asks which bank of the river each address sits on, which side of I-5, what kind of home it is, and which rooms need to work first at the new home.
Patrick walks the riverfront and golf-course homes
Charbonneau golf-course houses, riverfront lots, and other larger homes get a free visit, during which he counts rooms, notes the heaviest furniture, and picks the truck's spot.
Optional pack days
If you would like help boxing up, packers work ahead of loading day at $56.40 an hour apiece. We only charge for boxes that get filled, and cartons you already have count too.
Runners down at both addresses, one load, beds first
The crew protects the floors and door jambs at the house you are leaving, and does it again when the truck reaches the new one. Pieces are padded, broken down where needed with the hardware bagged and labeled, and the beds go back together before anything else at the new home.
Your walk, your sign-off
Before the truck pulls away, you and the crew go through each room and check the pieces that matter most to you. Payment comes at completion, by whichever of card, check, or cash suits you.

Planning Notes for Charbonneau, Villebois and Old Town
Three Wilsonville examples of how Patrick would lay out a job. The details of yours will differ.
How we'd plan a Charbonneau condo to a Frog Pond West house
Once the condo's move-day details are in hand, the date is locked in. At the condo, the crew lays runners from the unit door to the exit and loads the rooms needed first at the new house last, so they come off the truck first. Frog Pond West's detached homes give the unload a garage to hold boxes while beds and sofas go straight to their rooms.
How we'd plan a Villebois townhome to a Canyon Creek house
This one crosses I-5 from west to east. The townhome's stair sets the crew plan: which pieces come apart upstairs, and whether the sectional leaves in sections. Because the two addresses are close, the crew can keep the day continuous, unloading one run and starting the next without a long drive in between.
How we'd plan a Portland apartment arriving in Old Town
A move from a Portland building into a house near Boones Ferry Park has two very different ends. We confirm when the Portland building allows move-outs, and then plan the Old Town end around street parking and the front walk. Travel from Portland down I-5 is part of the day, so we aim to load early and unload in daylight.

How Our Crews Handle Wilsonville Homes
One-trip inventories south of the river
A complete list is the cheapest tool on a Charbonneau move. We go room by room and then outdoors: deck furniture, planters, a golf bag, the shelving in the garage. The list sets the truck size and crew count before loading day.
Villebois townhomes and shared walls
Villebois townhomes share walls with the homes beside them. Our crews carry pieces rather than drag them, keep the neighbor's entry clear, and take apart tall headboards or bunk beds upstairs when the stair turn is tight. Screws and bolts go into labeled bags.
Inside a Charbonneau condo
In a Charbonneau condo, the crew can run protection along shared hallways where permitted, stage pieces near the unit rather than on common walkways, and work to a tight parking spot by loading in smaller batches.
Riverfront lots in Morey's Landing and Daydream River Estates
On a riverfront lot, the path from the curb to the front door can stretch across a deep yard. At the walk-through, Patrick can pace the distance from where the truck can park to the front door. On a long path, a third mover shortens the day enough to be worth the added rate, and Patrick will show you both crew options on the estimate.
Staging a Villebois or Charbonneau listing
A Villebois home for sale sits among neighbors built from the same master plan, so the furniture does a lot of the work in photos. Our realtor staging service can thin a home to its best pieces before the listing goes live and can deliver the rest to your new address.
Released Value, Replacement Cost and Claims
Your estimate comes with plain talk about coverage. Released value at $0.60 per pound is the legal floor, not a plan. Replacement-cost protection is available if you choose to purchase it. We will submit a claim upon request.

Wilsonville Moving Questions
What does a Wilsonville move cost?
It depends on the size of the home, how much is packed, and the drive time. Two movers and a truck bill $150.35 per hour with a 3-hour minimum, and larger crews are on the card above.
We are moving from one Charbonneau address to another. How does that work?
The loaded part of the job stays on local streets south of the river. Give us both unit and house numbers so the plan covers parking and access at each end.
Can you do a same-day move in Wilsonville?
Smaller homes, one or two bedrooms, can move the same day about three times out of four when you call before noon.
Do you offer storage between homes?
No. We do not offer storage. When the Wilsonville sale and the new closing are weeks apart, a local storage company can hold things for the gap, and we set the moving day around your new closing.
Does Boone Bridge traffic count toward our hours?
Yes. The hourly clock keeps running while the loaded truck drives between your two addresses, crossing included. For a Charbonneau move north, we can set the start time with you so the loaded run misses the busiest hours on I-5.
When should we get on the calendar?
One to two weeks of notice covers most local moves. Give us longer for a large home or a date in the summer. Nothing is paid to hold the date, and moving it costs nothing if you tell us one to two weeks ahead.
Do padding and taking furniture apart cost extra?
No. Wrapping, padding, taking pieces apart and putting them back together all sit inside the hourly rate, so that work shows up only as the time it takes.
Which I-5 exit will the truck use for Charbonneau?
Charbonneau has its own exit, 282B, just south of the Boone Bridge. Wilsonville Road, Exit 283, serves the north side of town.
What if a sofa will not clear a doorway?
The crew can lift an interior door off its hinges and rehang it once the piece is through. When a piece has to come apart, we photograph it first so it goes back together the same way.
